Who?
My name is Andrey Savchenko. Just call me Rarst, that is long-established nickname and confidently rivals my given name by now.
I have been messing with computers for many years. Worked with them in many areas as well – from 3D modeling in aviation industry to managing help desk in heat and electricity supply company.
Why?
I have started this blog back in 2008 as my persistent place online and way to organize and share what I know and learn about IT stuff.
About what?
Since start the blog had expanded into many topics.
- the bulk of content is still software (good, free, portable)
- and useful sites, online services, web apps
- other than that there are plenty of my thoughts on IT
- scripts and programs I write (batch, AutoIt, PHP)
- interesting hardware I use (or just encountered)
- books (recent addition and still light on content)
Where to start?
- home for latest stuff
- archives for nifty ways to browse around by categories, tags and more
- search (powered by Google) through whole blog
